Forge World: Legion Glaive
Forge world have just announced that on the 28th of this month, the Legion Glaive will be available. They are currently taking pre-orders for the new super heavy tank that is based off of the Fellblade. Why should we order one?
Well lets start at the Base stats. Ballistic Skill 4, Front Armour 14, side Armour 13, and rear Armour 12. And then there are the 4 Structure points, For those not currently playing Apocalypse games or Horus heresy games. 4 structure points is the same as 12 Hull points. So just like its Brother the Fellblade this tank can take a few hits.
Then we have the difference over the Fellblade. The new and I have to say mighty destructive Volkite Caronade. The VC is a Heavy beam weapon. So you draw a line from the turret to the maximum range. In this case 48". Plus on the Heavy Beam rules this Beam is 1" wide rather than the normal 1mm wide beams we have.
With the exception of Swooping Monstrous creatures, and Zooming fliers, anything under the 1" wide beam friend or foe. Takes a STR 8 AP 2 hit. If the beam happens to hit a Super Heavy Vehicle, Gigantic Monstrous Creature. Or intact Building. The beam stops dead. And it gives D3 + 1 hits to the unit or building blocking the beam, instead of just 1 hit. And all these hits are resolved at the STR 8 AP 2 profile.
It is also important to note that the weapon also does not loose streangh for every model it hits. Causing the same damage to the last model under the beam as it does to the first model under the beam.
Also on the weapons side of things the Glaive has to sponsons on either side. Normal for a heavy tank but these are quad lascannons, Not twin linked. But actualy 4 lascannons per side givving the Glaive the abiliy to fire 8 lascannon shots per shooting phase.
It allso comes with the obligatory twin linked heavy Bolter on the fron of the Tank, As well as Smoke launchers and a search light.
The quad Lascannon sponsons can be traded for Laser destroyer sponsons for no extra points cost, and the twin linked heavy bolters can be exchanged for twin linked heavy flamers for no extra cost either.
You can also add a Hunter Killer Missile for 10 Points, and Armoured Ceramite for 25 points.
The base cost of the Tank comes in at 625 points. But for the destructive power it brings these are wisely spent points. Of course these are just the experimental rules for the tank. But I doubt they will change much if at all.
Forge world are charging the same for the Legion Glaive as they do for the Fell blade £155. And I could not resist I had to grab one of these for my up and coming World Eaters project.
Now for the model itself. The Legion Glaive was designed by Stuart Williamson. I realy like the model, it looks some what menacing. The cannon itself does just look like an Over sized Plasma gun. But I will forgive it.

Black Library comes to Android and Kindle
Black library has just announced that the digital products from them including new and old, will now be available on Android devices and Kindle.
This comes as no surprise to me at all. they are now opening up the digital books to a much larger audience, than they had with iOS. Wile iOS provides a more piracy safe environment, it still doesn't stop the use of pirated PDF Black library books to be downloaded. of which there are hundreds.
At least now, those with android devises can download the awesome books from such writers as Graham McNeill, Andy Chambers, Aaron Dembski Bowden.
The Move to android and Kindle for Black Library could double there revenue now. I actually purchased an Ipad just for the Black library series of books Namely the Horus Heresy Books.
We may even in time see Games Workshop take the plunge and release the Digital Codex's for the systems too. Wile it wont really work on a Kindle because of its Paper white Screen. We can certain hope to see the Digital Library Open for Kindle Fire and all Android Based Tablets.
The Digital Downloads for Black Library will be Available on the 10th of June.
But Mobi and Epub files are available as a preview now on the Black Library web site.
"We have some exciting news today, from our colleagues at Games Workshop.

"We have some exciting news today, from our colleagues at Games Workshop.
As
of Monday, you’ll be able download a new range of titles, compatible
with almost any current generation mobile device or tablet, from right
here on the Black Library website. What’s more, if you already have an
account on this website, you can get these new books the same way you
would download a Black Library eBook.
These new publications explore the Warhammer and Warhammer
40,000 universes in unprecedented detail. Find out more details about
the origins of characters that appear in Black Library novels and in
games of Warhammer 40,000 and learn about the vast arsenal of weaponry,
myriad alien creatures and daemonic entities that exists in the far
future.
The range kicks off with three series: Warlords of the Dark Millennium, Index Astartes, and Munitorum.
Warlords of the Dark Millennium explores the heroes
and villains of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Each instalment will
cover topics like the origin of the character, great battles in their
history, and their rise to glory (and/or infamy). It will also include
detailed descriptions and images of the character’s weapons and wargear,
not to mention full rules for using them in your games of Warhammer
40,000 (even if you don’t have the relevant codex).
Index Astartes may be a familiar name to
longstanding Games Workshop fans, as it first appeared as an article in
White Dwarf as far back as 1988! Every week, Index Astartes will explore
the Space Marines of the Imperium: everything you ever wanted to know
about the warriors, vehicles, beliefs and fighting style of the
Emperor’s finest. Many of the classic Index Astartes articles will
become available again digitally, as well as loads of new instalments to
look forward to.
Munitorum is your indispensible guide to the
weapons and wargear of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Every issue will
focus on an item of battlefield equipment from the far future, from the
humble lasgun, to the alien shuriken catapult, to the apocalyptic vortex
missile.
You can download a preview of the
first installments in these three new series today and find out what you
can expect from the new range of Games Workshop Digital Editions."

GW Paint price rise
Ok so after a quick look at GW website this morning its clear to see the Manufactorum have bee raising prices, But only in the Paint department. So what are the new prices.
Spray Paint £9.80 an increase 30p
Citadel Paints including Glaze, base, layers, wash £2.40 And increase of 10p
Citadel Edge Paints £2.55 And increase of 15p
Citadel Brush set £40.50 sure this was only £37 last week so an estimated increase of around £3
I haven't noticed any more increases I would of thought the tools section would also take a hit, But it seems they have left these prices alone for now. I haven't seen anymore price hikes on models or books so it does seem to be just the Paints.
This wont actually mean a great deal to most of us being as the price raise is minimal. But what is with this Stealthy increase? Its starting to look as if GW think there customer base is made mostly of Mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed s**t). Is the price increase on paints merely the calm before the storm?
With the amount of of Dire avengers you now get for your money, is this going to be GW next change. reducing the amount of models per box. I guess we wont know until they release a new Codex again possibly Codex: Space Marines.
The Codex Eldar Supplement for Iyanden is also a worrying prospect for Space Marine Players. Are Blood Angels, Templar's, Salamanders and many more Popular Chapters Suddenly going to have to Purchase Supplements for there armies as well as a main Codex? I'm actually Betting on this. Why sell a player 1 Codex when you can sell them 2 after all.
I am guessing that the need to increase money on the Paint range was due to the lack of sales. Airbrushes are getting increasingly cheaper, the paints are cheaper, and of a higher quality. and people are slowly realizing that just because you buy an airbrush you have to be able to paint like Hugo from Ichiban or Chung from Wargamers Consortium. Simply using the air brush for priming, base coating and washes is far faster and more economic than using spray cans an GW paints. The skills to get to a higher level come with time.

Deep Strike Radio: Christina Campbell was a fake
Deep strike Radio have just released a statement about Christina Campbell.
"This is not an easy announcement for for Deep Strike Radio to make, but we believe it is necessary that we be completely honest with the listeners. Several discrepancies have arisen over the death and identity of one Christina Campbell. Upon having the matter brought to our attention, we proceeded to investigate the matter to the best of our ability. We would like to apologize to the community for allowing someone to use our show, and the 40k community as a vehicle for their own (as of yet unknown) agenda. The facts as we know them are thus:
1) There was never a person by the name of Christina Campbell participating on our show. Rather, it was an individual using a false identity. We have done extensive checks into Canadian Obituaries and any other references we could find, and have discovered no record of this identity.
2) This individual has taken advantage of our show, and the wider 40k community for their own gratification.
3) This person has also engaged in several false online relationships with various individuals in the community (Whose identities we will not disclose) for unknown reasons.
Once again, we would like to apologize for allowing this person to participate on this show under false pretenses. We believed this “Christina Campbell” as a member of the 40k online community for years (predating even this show) to be a creditable individual who would be a valuable addition to our cast.
There are two lessons to be learned from this, one in that while the online community can be a place for lasting and true friendships, it is extremely important to verify that the individuals you associate with are who they say they are. Two, that the 40k community is a caring and inviting one. The community had no reason to believe that this person was false, and did everything it could to be supportive and encouraging. Do not let this individual take this from any of you. Trust that, while these things happen, there is nothing wrong with being supportive of your fellow community members.
We will be back with our regularly scheduled programming next week."
Just what goes through peoples heads now days. There really are some sick twisted people in this world. I don't even understand what the Endgame was for this individual.

Forgeworld: Legion Praetors and Luna wolfs
The legion Preators are now available on forge world. The Models Look Stunning and is a definite buy for me.
"Praetors are the mightiest warriors and battle-leaders of the Legiones Astartes, second only to the godlike Primarchs in their martial skill and generalship. Each is a vastly experienced warrior and warlord, unique in character, who has writ a legend for themselves in blood and slaughter.
These lords of the Imperium possess a panoply of the finest weapons and armour known to humanity and hold the power of life and death over worlds, with direct control over entire war fleets and great armies. In their ranks can be found Chapter Masters and Lord Commanders, Khans, Tribunes and First Captains as the traditions of the Legions dictate; regardless of title each is a master of war, and each has conquered worlds unnumbered in the glory of the Great Crusade.
The Legion Praetors set contains two incredibly detailed multi-part resin models, designed by Edgar Skomorowski. One Praetor is clad in artificer-modified Cataphractii armour, armed with an ornate paragon blade power sword and a Volkite Charger, while the other wears ornate artificer-modified MkIII ‘Iron’ armour and carries a fantastically-detailed archaeotech pistol, as well as a mighty paragon blade power sword. These two characters are fully compatible with Forge World’s Terminator and MkIV weapon sets, allowing for a great variety of wargear options."
From Forge World
Also available soon are the New Lunar wolfs etched brass and Transfer Sheets.

Worthy Painting.
So it's a sad time, but worthy LTD has just announced that the store and the painting side of worthy painting is no more, they are going out of business. Worthy LTD have provided some stunning painted models. And also gave away a fully painted Eldar Titan. But In the latest Video Nick states that they can no longer continue to run Worthy LTD due to cash flow problems.
Unfortunately it looks as though they are also unable to full fill previous orders. But has stated in there YouTube video that Shaun from Blue Table Painting, has agreed to full fill those orders. Shaun has also Posted a Video, stating his Support for Worthy LTD in these hard times.
A very sad day indeed for the war gaming community, it was only recently that posts sprung up on forums like Dakka Dakka slating the company for lack of communication and so called rush jobs. But in the light of there new YouTube Video we can see why the company may of been slipping in recent months, compared to the high quality service that they have been known for.
It's never good to see a company struggle, especially one that has brought a smile to many customers faces for there excellent painting services. The good news is that they are keeping the YouTube channel going, so we can still expect to see some excellent videos from then.
Good luck in the future.

A new FAQ for Eldar?
It
seems as though GW have already released a FAQ for the new Codex:
Eldar. And this is no spelling mistake. It seems they have a whole new
profile for the Shadow Weaver Weapon. The Pic below it is taken from the
new FAQ.
Now
this is all well and good, But for those people that went and spent the
money out of a limited edition dust cover, they now have to draw on
there limited edition codex's or carry around the FAQ sheet with them
from now on.
Wile
GW love the digital releases, I can honestly say that I prefer to hold
the book in my hands than stare at my fruit based tablet. If they
continue to make adjustments to the new codex's, the digital variants
with the auto updates feature is looking more feasible. But only as a
battle reference. When it comes to reading your back story and such, you
can beat those glossy pages. Oh and the smell of a new book, or is it
just me that has to open a new book and smell the spine? Come on admit
it you all do it.
Ok so the Horus heresy big weekend seems to of shed a light on where forge world are going with the Horus Heresy. with the announcement of a Book 2 and a Book 3, Book two is supposed to include Salamanders, Iron hands, Word Bearers, Night Lords, Titan Legion and Legio Cybernetica. And is going to be heavily based on the Isstvan V drop site massacre. Wile Book 3 is said to include Raven Guard, iron Warriors, Alpha Legion and Imperial Fists. And also covers the Battle of Isstvan V and the Battle of Phall. With Dark angels and White Scars. Making an appearance in Book Seven
Also A quick peek at the Nightlords can be found on the Forgeworld website itself. Man i hope they release Konrad Curz, I will actually strip naked and run through the streets shouting "Ave Dominus Nox"
We also have a sneak peek at the Salamanders as well.
No news on if we are actually going to get a Horus model yet, but with the inclusion of the Battlemasters rules in Book One, we can only hope. We may also see an Argel Tal model as well. Aparently this is just going to be the First trilogy of the Horus Heresy. Now I'm hoping that this will eventualy lead to the Siege at the Emperors Palace.
There was a presentation showing some new units thes included the "missing link" tank, half Landraider half Predator.
A new Drop pod, Assault Claw. Arrives by Deep strike But can also take off and fly away again. The size comparison they show with a 28mm figure has this Drop pod looking like a serious heavy weight. It comes with a range of weaponry including a new weapon named the Vortex Melta.
New Mechanicum models for the Legio Cybernetica also featured. The Battle-Automata.
And a New Word Bearers model. Its only Erebus.
All in all it looks to be an exciting, if not very expensive time to be in the hobby.
